Dryas octopetala

This week's letter in ABC Wednesday is D.
My word for the letter is Dryas octopetala, which common names include mountain avens, white dryas, and white dryad. This particular flower was photographed during a course in Kilpisjärvi, where we studying flowers that live in that (north-west) region of Lapland.

  7. This is such a 'clean' flower. The combination of white petals with the yellow of the stamen is always a winner.
