Mergus merganser

This week's letter in ABC Wednesday is M.
My choice for the letter is photograph about Mergus merganser, which english name appears to be Goosander. It is usually one of the first ducks that I see migrating back to Finland in springtime.
This year, I took my first photographs about Goosander in beginning of April, while last year, I did similar task (the photograph in beginning of this post) on mid-March.

  1. Beautiful colourings in this bird's feathers! And love the rippling water around it!

  2. Oh my this is pretty. I wish I could get a picture like this one too. I think I have to go out and look for them before they are gone back to where they came from. Happy Wednesday!

  6. Oh great photo -- so clean and sharp. I need to get to the lagoon and start trying to identify water fowl.
